The borders are part of the C64 screen and they really should be present.ġ.1"Keep aspect ratio" doessn't get rid of the outer bordersĢ. I have tried every display option I can think of but nothing works. Is there any way to force WINVice to display the "data" screen as 768 pixels, removing the outer border? The sound emulation in WINVice is better than DOS Vice. I'd like to use GameBase 64 but I don't know if an old DOS version exists. It looks like this (but imagine black borders on the left and right)

I've been experimenting with DOS Vice under DOSBox and the results are much better - it looks like DOS screen with the "data" screen extending the full 768 pixels vertically and the horizontal screen truncated to a nice 4:3 ratio with black bars on the sides. I have a small rectangle in the middle of the screen surrounded by a huge light blue border - something like thisĮxcept that it's also stretched horizontally to fit the screen.

I don't know how I tolerated full screen mode on my other computer (this is a new (er) computer with a fresh XP/SP3 installation) but this one looks horrible. I'm using Windows XP on a 1368x768 (widescreen) monitor and I've been running WINVice.

First post here but I'm a long time C-64 user (had one of the originals when they first came out) and pretty long time (5+ years) VICE user.
